Shifting Shadows — Bill Suttles - Show & Tell

hifting Shadows is built from broad, energetic passages of color, with brilliant yellows set against cooler blues and greens to suggest a landscape alive with changing light. Rather than describing the scene literally, Bill uses color, gesture, and loosely defined forms to capture the atmosphere and sensation of the place.

In the short Show & Tell video below, Bill sits down with Shifting Shadows again and remembers the painting in his own words.

These conversations are part of an ongoing effort to document Bill's artistic process and preserve over seventy years of experience as a working American painter.
