My father has always been able to make stillness feel alive. All Together carries that same quiet rhythm — shapes leaning toward one another, colors finding their place in a conversation that never quite ends. When I look at this piece, I see both the balance of his hand and the spontaneity that guides him — the way he trusts the image to lead the way.
He often starts with fragments from earlier sketches, rearranging them until something clicks — a visual chord that resonates beyond any single element. All Together feels like that moment when everything scattered finally becomes one voice.
It’s an abstract composition, but it holds a sense of people, of shared rhythm and quiet collaboration. Maybe that’s what draws me to it: a feeling of belonging, both in the way it’s built and in what it expresses.
This reflection is part of the Suttles Continuum, our family’s living archive and storytelling project. Through it, we’re preserving not just the art, but the rhythm of an ongoing creative life — the sketches, the finished works, and the spaces in between. Each piece, including All Together, becomes a bridge between generations, reminding us that creativity continues to evolve, as alive and responsive as ever.

Studio Notes:
All Together reminds me that balance and motion can share the same space. Every edge feels deliberate, yet never rigid — a dance between control and intuition that defines his ongoing process.
